They have been consigned from a local private vendor, having been bought in Cambridge in 2007 and 2008. Each of the oils on canvas is estimated at £3000-5000. Among them is Wave Tunnel, 11¾ x 10in (30 x 26cm), signed, titled and dated 08 on the reverse.
The auction will also feature one of Richard Long’s (b.1945) River Avon mud drawings. The four-times Turner-prize shortlisted artist created such works by dipping paper sheets into wet mud taken from the Avon in his hometown of Bristol. Once dipped, he displayed the pages upside down, revealing the meandering fluvial streams.
The untitled example from 2009 at Cheffins measures 8¼ x 5¾in (21 x 15cm) and is estimated at £3000-5000.
