Tinplate clockwork toy fashioned as a monkey-training goat rider, estimated at $2000-4000 at Bertoia.
The Wearts amassed a huge collection of US and European antique toys housed in custom-built showcases in their Allentown, Pennsylvania, home.
Included among the European toys will be this 8in (20cm) tinplate clockwork toy fashioned as a monkey-training goat rider which emits a ‘plink plank’ sound when wound.
Made by the German firm of Gunthermann, it is estimated at $2000-4000.
