This copy of 'Hansel and Gretel', 1925, with 12 tipped-in colour plates by the Danish artist Kay Nielsen (1886-1957), is one of 600 numbered copies (numbered 16) signed by the artist, in the original publisher’s pictorial cloth.
The estimate is £800-1200 at Halls of Shrewsbury in the November 10 auction.
Other highlights include Fables of Aesop, illustrated by Edward Detmold, estimate £200-300; a vellum-bound 1/40 book, Green Willow, 1910, £200-300; and another vellum-bound 1/40 volume Arabian Nights, which is a limited edition 106/350, guided at £300-500.
