It is organised by textiles specialist Tara Franklin, who stands at the Decorative Living Fair. She says: “I tried a small one last year in November which was great. So on September 3 we had 24 dealers in two potting sheds selling French antiques, antique textiles and folk art.”

She added: “It was brilliant, the customers loved it and the sheds looked beautiful. It was so good the brocante will now run twice yearly in June and September.”

The Garden Centre Association’s sales figures for 2021 rose by 28% as people discovered a new interest in gardening due to being at home more or holidaying at home. Organising a brocante in a garden centre selling lovely vintage pieces to light up your indoor space as well as your garden seems a perfect idea.
