Antiques rugs and carpets dealer James Cohen offers this Lakai Nim suzani for £9600.
The dowry embroidery, 3ft 5in x 4ft 10in (98cm x 1.46m), was made c.1850 by an Uzbek girl to demonstrate her skill and value before marriage.
The central panel has a tree of life design with multi-coloured blossoms.
According to the dealer: “Really good ones have a naive charm, are full of motion and fine embroidery, and packed with charming colour. This one ticks all the boxes.”
It is offered in original condition, the colours still vivid despite some natural aging.
