This 17th century Edo period gilt-lacquer cabinet is made from the highly-prize Izu mulberry wood of Japan.
The drawer fronts are decorated with a scheme of flora and fauna including chrysanthemum blooms, mulberry fruit, insects and geese.
The flowers are in ivory (the piece is offered with a unique ivory licence) with the cabinet retaining its side-carrying handles and working door lock. It is priced at £28,000 from Box House of Lymington.
