However, to attract customers a couple of the market traders including Steve Howsam had a brainwave and organised an antiques and collectors’ event on Sunday, July 16.
Howsam said after the event: “We had a fantastic day with loads of visitors and 20 or so stallholders selling antiques and vintage mixed up with some of our regular traders. It was so good, we’re holding another on Sunday, August 13.”
The traders were moved in February to their temporary location pending the revamp of the square which is expected to last until December 2024.
