Roy Sim, formerly of Roy Sim Antiques in Blairgowrie, Scotland, has a memory of not his own car but of a visit from dealer Tom Corrie. More than 20 years ago Corrie was on a buying trip and utilised his Volvo’s roof rack to its full potential.
Sim said: “You always knew it was a serious dealer arriving if they pulled up to your car park in a Volvo with roof rack.”
Sim, who after dealing for 30 years has now moved into commercial property as Roy Sim Properties, still has the photos on his wall.
Corrie, of Irving Street Antiques in Dumfries, alas no longer has a Volvo but admits that he exploits the roof rack of his current vehicle to a similar degree!
