Day by day documentation relating to the trial of the Krays, £3200 at Sworders.

Offered in a more recent Sworders auction, one held on February 7, was a collection of typed courtroom transcripts of 1969 – one for each of the 39 days that made up the trial, conviction and sentencing of the notorious ‘Kray Twins’ and their numerous associates.

Sold for £3200, the lot also included folders containing additional reports, statements and other evidence, and came from the collection of the police officer who had helped put the Krays in the dock, the late Leonard Ernest ‘Nipper’ Read (1925-2020).

‘Nipper’ published his own account of the events that led to the trial some years ago.
