A busy interiors fair run by Paula Duggan in Howden.
A former scientist, who also works part-time teaching the subject, she stumbled on antiques many years ago when she visited three antiques fairs in a day. “I felt like Goldilocks and the Three Fairs that day. I’ve been hooked on antiques ever since”, she said.
“We started the fair 10 years ago and it’s really popular with period home owners and lovers of the country and farmhouse house style. We are always full on with visitors. There are 19 traders offering English and French antiques, antique textiles, painted furniture and old garden accessories in this small quirky venue.”
Duggan added: “The opportunity to open a shop in Howden came out of the ether so I’m gathering rustic homewares for it including original pieces.”
There are three Rustic & Country Style Fairs this year at the Shire Hall in Howden with the first on Saturday, March 18.
