Silk dress from c.1765 sold for €38,000 (£33,630) to the Palais Galliera at Thierry de Maigret.

They included a rococo style robe à la française from c.1765 made from silk taffeta probably produced in Lyon and woven in a pattern of flowersprays entwined with ribbons known as Chiné à la branche.
It was bid to €38,000 (£33,630), three times the €8000-12,000 guide, at which point it was pre-empted by the Palais Galliera, the Paris fashion museum.
Surpassing this in price, however, were two complete men’s outfits each comprising a coat, waistcoat and breeches.

The other slightly earlier, c.1760-70, in mustard coloured silk and richly embroidered with polychrome silk, made €48,000 (£42,480) against a guide of €3000-5000.
