Cartier travel clock, £7000 at Ewbank’s.
Signed to the back and bearing the case number 5879, the travel clock shown here was dated to the 1920s or 30s and epitomised Art Deco elegance. The square agate plaque featured cabuchon sapphire accents and the enamel clock had a guilloche bleu celeste dial and arrow hands set with rose-cut diamonds.
Guided at £3000-5000 in Woking on September 20, the clock in a fitted red leather Cartier case sold to a UK private bidder at £7000.
