William and Mary period ebony veneered striking bracket clock, estimated £3000-5000 at Hutchinson Scott.
Made by the London maker John Pepys, it is signed on the engraved backplate.
The clock has an original twin fusée movement and has been converted from a verge to anchor escapement and lacks the pull quarter repeat work. Its 6in (15cm) brass dial has winged cherub spandrels and a silvered chapter ring plus calendar and signed mock pendulum apertures.
The estimate is £3000-5000.
