Turret clock of a type made towards the end of the 18th century, estimate £800-1400 at Gardiner Houlgate.
The earlier of the two examples pictured here is not signed but is a type common in the Midlands and northern England towards the end of the 18th century. The ‘chair frame’ is made from cast as opposed to wrought iron and assembled by pins. It is estimated at £800-1400.
The other example is inscribed to the brass dial for John Moore & Sons, specialist turret clock maker in Clerkenwell, and dated 1826.
One of the hundreds of Moore movements made for ecclesiastic and public buildings across the UK, it is expected to sell for £1200-1800.
