A large private collection assembled over many decades by Devon antiques enthusiast Damien Parsons will go under the hammer at Chilcotts in Honiton on April 13.

Pictured top is a Revolutionary era plate decorated with factory chimneys from a design by Nina Zander. Painted on a blank from the State Porcelain Manufactory in St Petersburg, it bears the hammer, sickle and cog mark.

Estimate £1000-£1500.

A 1st or 2nd century Roman head of a young boy on a late 17th or early 18th century marble socle, estimate £4000-6000 at Woolley & Wallis.

This 1st or 2nd century Roman head of a young boy, possibly a young Bacchus, on a late 17th or early 18th century marble socle was formerly in the collection of the late 6th Earl of Rosebery at Mentmore House.

When the contents were sold by Sotheby’s in 1977, it was bought by the interior decorators, dealers and collectors Peter Morris and Derek Parker.

At the Woolley & Wallis sale in Salisbury titled Parker & Morris: The Art of Decorating on April 17 it has a guide of £4000-6000.

This enamel triptych is the unmistakable work of Phoebe Anna Traquair (1873-1936), the first woman to be given honorary membership of the Scottish Royal Academy, in 1920.

This devotional work, dated 1906, is one of four known (another is in the Victoria and Albert Museum).

The enamelled scenes represent ‘Love, Comforter of the Night’, flanked by ‘Evening’ and ‘Morning’, all of which Traquair also produced as single enamels set as pendants. The text is taken from the psalms.

As part of Lyon & Turnbull’s Design Since 1860 sale in Edinburgh on April 17-18, it has a guide of £6000-8000.

North Italian marble-top table, estimate £2000-4000 at Sloane Street Auctions.

Around 80 lots from the storerooms of Pimlico Road dealer Ossowski have been consigned for sale at Sloane Street Auctions in London on April 18.

The base of this north Italian marble-top table is carved from a single tree trunk, with paint analysis dating the pigments before 1700.

Estimate £2000-4000.

Seiko Ref 6139 or Pogue watch, estimate £200-400 at Auctioneum.

The Seiko Ref 6139 or Pogue is a watch that many ‘Swiss’ collectors covet because of its good looks and space heritage. Alongside the official NASA issue Omega Speedster on his right wrist, Col William Pogue chose to wear a yellow-dial 6139 on the left arm during a Skylab 4 mission in 1973.

Several variations on the ‘Pogue’ theme are known. This one with a gold dial and Pepsi bezel carries an estimate of £200-400 at Auctioneum in Bristol on April 18.

Large tin-glazed earthenware dish made by Phyllis Keyes and decorated by Vanessa Bell, estimate £1500-2000 at Bonhams.

Bonhams will stage its first auction dedicated solely to the Bloomsbury set of artists and thinkers. The Bloomsbury: Modern British Art sale will run as a timed online auction until April 18.

This large tin-glazed earthenware dish made by Phyllis Keyes and decorated by Vanessa Bell dates from c,1935. Measuring 19in (47cm) across and marked with Keyes’ insignia and the initials VB, it has an estimate of £1500-2000.

This mid-19th century Mauchline burr wood table snuff box is decorated in penwork with a portrait of Robert Burns and scene and verse from Tam o’ Shanter, ‘But pleasures are like poppies spread, you seize the flower the bloom is shed, or like the snow falls in the river, a moment white then melts forever’.

Measuring 5in (12cm) wide, it has a guide of £300-500 at Lindsay Burns in Perth on April 16-17.
