On behalf of the Postcard Traders Association, dealer Clive Baker runs its big event, the annual Festival of Cards.

This year it is staged on Thursday and Friday, February 29-March 1, at Junction 24, a purpose-built venue at North Petherton, Somerset, where there will be multi-offerings from 64 dealers at 160 tables.

Baker said: “This is one of the biggest postcard events of the year with dealers buying up collections all year for it.”

Dealer Mick Liversidge, who trades as Cobweb Postcards and who will be exhibiting at the festival, says that most collectors want “top-quality photographic topographical postcards, agricultural is popular as is road transport, social history, railways and sport, particularly football.

“The ‘holy grail’ would be something very rare related to the sinking of the Titanic.”
