Back in 2018, Bretten Lord opened an antiques centre and salvage yard in the village of Ingleton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales - at the age of 20.

Now Lord has turned his attention to the nearby town of Settle where he lives and has launched a sister venture there operating as a single business.

He acquired a network of barns called The Courtyard on the outskirts of the town last year and Lords Courtyard opened this month offering antiques and art, as well as an auction house which is planned to be open by Easter. It also includes a restaurant, clothing and plants.

Lord, whose collecting tastes lean to interior design, said: “My goal is to create a destination to complement the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales as well as providing new jobs and opportunities in the area.”

His talents also emcompass acting. He starred as Tom Proctor in Lad: A Yorkshire Story (2013) made for Channel 5 for which he won a best actor award in the US.
