It is priced at £5500 by Peter Bunting Antiques, a specialist in country oak furniture of the 16th-18th centuries as well as panel pictures, Windsor chairs and tapestries.

He is among the 45 dealers standing at the fair which runs from January 19-21, the first staging of the year for Cooper Events.

Organiser Sue Ede says: “We begin the year in Yorkshire with a fair that is increasingly a showcase for the best dealers across the country.

“I’m delighted to welcome several new faces including the leading furniture dealer Peter Bunting and a major picture specialist, Haynes Fine Art. We are looking forward to a busy three days.”

This pair of Meissen porcelain figures of a cockerel and hen, c.1920, was originally modelled by JJ Kaendler and is priced £3800 from Philip Carrol Antiques.

Also standing at the fair are Andrew Muir, John Newton Antiques, Dansk Silver and Chester’s Farm Gallery. Carnes Fine Art and Ptarmigan Antiques & Fine Art return after some time away and Dales Antiques joins for the first time.

This is the first of three Pavilions of Harrogate fairs set to take place this year. Cooper Events also continues to organise fairs in Chester, the Cotswolds and Buxton.
