These Klismos-inspired chairs after a Thomas Hope design, 1970s, are on the stand of The Bath Chap for £750 at Bath Decorative Antiques Fair.
Jo’s Objects of Desire, Coach House Brocante, Julian Green Gallery, Nick Waters Art, Warehams Antiques & Interiors and 1923 Antiques (see 5 Questions) are all first-timers at the fair.
They join 28 returning exhibitors such as Acanthus, Walton House Antiques, Granta Fine Art, Hiscock & Shepherd and Galerie Arabesque.
The event runs from March 15-16 at The Pavilion but opens to a select group on the 14th with what is traditionally a trade-only preview day. This year organisers are casting the net wider, inviting a group of decorators and influencers to attend the fair’s first hours.
The fair will offer a familiar selection of decorative antiques, country house furniture, fine art and outdoor items brought by dealers from across the country. Popular items are expected to include garden antiques, folk art and Mid-century design.
The fair was founded by Robin Coleman in 1989. Since 2011 it has been run by Sue Ede and Peter Hodder, who, as Cooper Events, also stage fairs in Buxton, Harrogate and Westonbirt.
