Antique Interiors, which is run by owners Mike and Vicky Mills and their three children, specialises in retro furniture from the 1950s-‘70s and stained glass. The new premises opened two weeks ago but Mike tells ATG that the search for a new home began two years earlier as stock started to overflow the previous space in Gainsborough.
"I started looking around then but couldn't find the right place," he says. "I'm glad I waited because this is absolutely right for us."
Among the buyers that have come through the doors of the 7000sq ft unit already are members of the trade as well as some new international clients from Asia.
The Mills family plan to expand their business into new markets and boost their retail and wholesale trading.
"In the future the kids want to expand," Mike says. "They'll add retail sections of the business. Right now we're all interested in providing a place for the trade to buy and keeping the business relevant and moving."
