Libson, a dealer with more than 40 years’ experience, says that Yarker has made “a huge impact on the gallery and has played an extremely significant role in developing the business” since joining five years ago.

Since that time the company has focused more on research and has included more ambitious projects, including staging the largest selling exhibition of drawings by Gainsborough for a century in 2014. Together, Libson and Yarker have made discoveries of works by John Constable, Samuel Palmer and Johan Zoffany.

“We operate in an apparently narrow field but Lowell has an amazing ability to reinvent what we do, at the same time preserving a continuity of taste,” says Yarker.

The gallery exhibits at the Salon du dessin in Paris for the first time in March and will hold a major exhibition of drawings made in Britain before 1730 in July.
