The outdoor market takes place Friday and Saturday and features vintage jewellery, art prints, glassware, bags, vintage clothes and more.

Alongside the opportunities to buy vintage goods, the event capitalises on its setting, offering a number of live performances and interactive elements which draw on the museum’s exhibits.

Stands are set between VC10 and Hercules aircraft, and both days of the fair include a Spitfire flypast. Visitors are encouraged to try on uniforms from the museum’s handling collection and get the makeovers to match them courtesy of the pop-up beauty parlour, The Blusherettes. Adding to the spirit of nostalgia will be live swing music and rock ‘n’ roll.

There are not yet definitive plans for future stagings of the event. However, a representative of the museum confirmed they are keen to develop into an annual occurrence.

Admission to the festival is £5 for adults and the event runs from 10am-5pm each day. There is free parking available at the museum and free shuttle transportation from Cosford train station.
