Burglars in a pick-up truck and an SUV ram raided the Petworth antiques fair at the weekend, stealing jewellery and cash belonging to dealers exhibiting at the three-day fair.

3) Fresh-to-market John Singer Sargent watercolours emerge at Skinner auction
Two watercolours by John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) that have been in a private American collection for nearly a century have emerged at an auction in Boston. One of them was described in the artist’s catalogue raisonée as “one of the most subtle and beautiful of Sargent’s architectural studies”.
