First published in the UK by Jonathan Cape in April, 1954, Live and Let Die is the second novel Ian Fleming (1908-64) wrote featuring James Bond. Fleming penned it at his Goldeneye estate in Jamaica before his first book, Casino Royale, was published.
A first edition, with a first-impression dust jacket, will be offered in a sale of books, maps and photographs at Edinburgh auction house Lyon & Turnbull on February 14.

Antiquities specialist TimeLine Auctions will include this 9in (23cm) high Cycladic marble head in its sale in London on February 20-24.
Dating from the 3rd millennium BC, the piece was formerly in the private French collection of architect and art collector Mohsen Foroughi (1907-84) and has been in a private collection in London since at least the 1980s.

This ancient coin dates from the reign of the Roman military commander Carausius, who declared himself emperor in Britain and northern Gaul in 286AD.
Although in direct revolt against the Emperor Diocletian in Rome, Carausius went to great lengths to legitimise the foundation of his break-away empire in Britain and portray it as a new Golden Age. This included holding the Secular Games, a Roman religious celebration held every 100 or 110 years.
The coin, which features a design of a lion with a thunderbolt in its mouth, was struck in London c.289-90AD during the period when the Secular Games was held. It is estimated at £7000-9000 at Dix Noonan Webb’s coin auction in London on February 21.
