Paola and Iaia Chiesa opened their store, The Originals, in December 1986. They were known for their impressive collection of Bakelite, radios and collectables, and were nicknamed ‘The Bakelite Girls’. They were business and life partners, together for over 30 years.
A celebration of Paola’s life was held at Alfies Antique Market on February 21.
An Alfies spokesperson said: “Everyone here will greatly miss Paola, and the contribution The Originals made to the market.”
