It includes, in its original leather and velvet lined travel case, this salesman sample barber’s chair labelled Manufactured by Theo A. Kochs Chicago.
Koch began c.1870 with a line of heavily carved wooden barber chairs but by 1920 these had evolved into a series of heavy chrome, porcelain and leather types. This extremely rare 16in (41cm) version, with swivel seat and adjustable back, was designed for shows and exhibition marketing.
