A 1777 first in marbled board covers of John Chapman and Peter Andre’s Map of the County of Essex from an Actual Survey – £5000 at Reeman Dansie.
It boasted 24 hand-tinted, double-page engraved maps of the county, with this splendid double-page title or frontispiece as the opening spread.
The map took £5000 in a September 28 sale held in the Colchester saleroom of Reeman Dansie (20% buyer’s premium).
