The fairs have been taken over by Lisa Doel under the banner Ginger Biscuit Events. Doel is based in Liversedge, West Yorkshire, has stood at all of the Discover Vintage fairs for the past five years and trades in vintage, mid-century and decorative salvage with husband Andy.

Eight vintage home fairs are planned at the usual venues for 2023 with the first one of the year at St Mary’s Church in Primrose Hill, north London, on Saturday, February 25.

Busy life

However, Rosendale will continue to run her vintage festivals held biannually at York Racecourse under the Discover Vintage banner. Formerly as Keeley Harris, Rosendale’s rollercoaster fairs career started in the north of England with vintage fashion fairs in 2009, followed by vintage wedding fairs in 2010 and a festival of vintage in 2011. The vintage home shows came a year later and have really hit their stride.

Then there is her Discover Vintage Interiors showroom in Leeds and two retail concessions in Leeds and Harrogate. Rosendale’s online vintage marketplace has also evolved – a new online sellers’ directory launches this year.

Rosendale said: “With so many plates to spin and me becoming a grandma in August I felt I needed to offload the fairs to give me a better work/life balance.

“The vintage home shows have grown and grown in success and since Covid have been busier than ever. But I run all of these branches of my business by myself. So it made sense for someone else to take on the home shows. My Christmas Festival of Vintage was a big hit again for its second year, which is also at York Racecourse – the main one on April 29-30 will be in its 11th year.”
