With the serial number 1252 it would have been manufactured c.1890 – the third year of production. The Richard movement became the basic format for barographs for well over 120 years and is still produced today. Many leading UK manufacturers, including Negretti & Zambra and Casella, bought them and incorporated them into their own display cases.
This example, in a mahogany hardwood case that would benefit from some minor refurbishment, is priced at £475 by Somerset barograph specialist Richard Twort.
