For anyone who would like to make donations in memory of Brian Watson, his family have chosen The Orwell Foundation “which seems to fit well with our father’s passion for reading, writing, debating politics and highlighting what he felt were social and political injustices. Orwell’s ambition was ‘to make political writing into an art’ and the Foundation awards annual Orwell Prizes, including a Youth Prize for young writers, to celebrate books and journalism which uncover hidden lives and confront uncomfortable truths, promoting the values of integrity, decency and fidelity. We think Dad would approve.”
