So packed out have Mark Farhall’s London fleamarkets in Hackney, Walthamstow and Peckham become that he has been searching for a new venue to add to the other locations.

He says: “The current flea markets are oversubscribed and can be overly crowded in the initial hours, so at the start of last year I started sourcing a suitable north-east London venue. I eventually found this large covered car park in The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.”

The first Giant London Flea Market launches there on Sunday, February 18, with 150 pitches booked so far. Farhall added: “The venue is large enough for traders to stall out next to their parked vehicles, which means that I’ve booked many new traders from markets like Ardingly and Kempton.”
