Barbers

Barbers was founded in 1920 by John Barber who started life as a dealer and valuer in antiques in Woking. Keith Mansfield bought the auction company in 1964 and since 1985 it has been based in Woking.

Sales at Barbers take place regularly and offer items including art, antiques, furniture and jewellery.

Soup tureen prototype takes £115,000 bid in Woking

This silver-gilt centrepiece is believed to be a prototype for a set of four soup tureens in the Royal Collection designed by John Flaxman (1756-1826) and made by John Bridge (1755-1834) for George IV.
