A selection of stand-out items that dealers will have on offer as part of Asia Week New York (AWNY).

Mid March in Manhattan is when the art market turns its cultural and commercial face east. This is the first of two New York Asian auction series (the other is in September), but what distinguishes the spring event, dubbed Asia Week New York (AWNY), is the input of dealer exhibitions.

“Mid-century is pretty unstoppable as the ‘new antique’ with exhibitions on Fifties and Sixties designers like Charles and Ray Eames and Harry Bertoia now regular events,” says Lucy Ryder Richardson, founder with Petra Curtis of the Midcentury Modern Shows.

Holker Hall, the privately owned country house in Cumbria, hosts its first fair in nearly 25 years this month.

Whether it’s an object saved for years or an item secured only yesterday, TEFAF will boast a wide range for sale.
