Fairs and Markets

Antiques fairs and markets offer a great way to browse and buy.

With so many exhibitors or stallholders in one place you can view a lot of different items quickly and compare prices and quality.

Depending on the event, the first day or morning may be for reserved for trade buyers before the general public gain access.

Some antiques markets are held weekly whereas some fairs may be quarterly, biannual, once a year or have some other frequency. Check the Calendar section of this website for details or view the listings every week in the Antiques Trade Gazette newspaper.

P&O bullish about antique fairs’ future

UK: P&O’s announcement that they are refocusing their business immediately put the future of the antiques fairs organised by P&O Events in jeopardy, although Hugh Scrimgeour, chairman of Earls Court Olympia, feels strongly that they will continue.

Hamptons’ new name

HAMPTONS Auctioneers of Godalming will change their name to Dreweatt Neate this month. Having become part of The Fine Art Auction Group earlier this year, the saleroom will be rebranded under the Dreweatt Neate banner in time for the Surrey firm’s April 13 sale.
