JAN Fine Art has asked that the art and antiques trade be aware of two thefts made at its Kensington Church Street, London, premises.

Edmund Edgar (c.1804-54) worked as a house painter, engraver and lithographer in London. And life may have stayed that way had he not been apprehended by a constable in Lisson Grove, Marylebone on the morning of September 12, 1825, in possession of a bag of silver, watches, jewellery and fine linen.
