Prints
Printmaking is generally defined as the creation of multiple impressions of an image. Each print may features slight variations with individual examples usually known as ‘impressions,’ and multiple impressions as an ‘edition.’
Among the many varieties of printmaking are woodcuts, engravings, etching, mezzotints, lithographs and screenprints.

For the Salford painter LS Lowry (1887-1976) this was the purchase of 'Going To The Match' in 1999 at Sotheby’s by the Professional Footballers’ Association.

Mirror images give snapshot of Paris style
05 August 2019Original lithographs by Joan Miró and Marc Chagall star at Eames Fine Art’s exhibition 'Behind the Mirror'. Held at the Bermondsey galley from August 8-September 1, the show is named for the magazine, Derrière le Miroir, the leading modern art publication in 20th century Paris along with Verve.
Bird images by Elizabeth Gould takes centre stage at Sotheran’s show
15 July 2019Vivid and lifelike, the lithograph of an Ariel Toucan shown below first appeared in a monograph by British naturalist John Gould (1804-81), 'The Bird Man'. Despite being in the hand of his wife Elizabeth (1804-41), this, like most of the illustrations in John’s publications, was long considered to be essentially his work.
