Haughton Fairs
Haughton International Fairs was founded in 1982. Its inaugural event was the International Ceramics Fair and Seminar.
Run by Anna and Brian Haughton, the firm organised the International Show in New York until the fair was superseded by TEFAF New York in 2016. They also organised Art Antiques London which launched in June 2010 and ran until 2016.
London Asian fair cancelled
23 March 2004ORGANISERS Brian and Anna Haughton have cancelled this summer’s London Asian Art Fair citing trade uncertainties over The Dealing in Cultural Objects (Offences) Act as the reason.
Why New York happily surrenders to the Orient (and London)
09 March 2004IT is no surprise that for many people, and not just committed aficionados of things Oriental, their favourite fair is The International Asian Art Fair. The event will be staged for the ninth time at The Seventh Regiment Armory, Park Avenue at 67th Street, New York City from March 26 to 31, with a Gala Benefit for the Asia Society on the evening of March 25.
Made for Manhattan
09 October 2003The fair with the best chance of giving New York and the trade a much-needed lift: I REMEMBER clearly two years ago in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in Manhattan one of the most severe tests for the international trade was the cancellation of London organisers Brian and Anna Haughton’s International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, America’s top antiques fair.
Taking Manhattan in the Haughton style
16 September 2003LONDON organisers Brian and Anna Haughton long ago conquered the Manhattan fairs scene, first with their flagship International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, which celebrates its 15th anniversary next month, then with their specialist fine art and Asian art fairs.
Top names take bigger stands with the Haughtons
15 July 2003NEW York’s top fair, Brian and Anna Haughton’s International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, is full with some 70 exhibitors and it is noticeable how many of the top dealers have gone for larger stands.
Venue comes up trumps, now it’s a question of balance
24 June 2003THE International Ceramics Fair and Seminar organised by Brian and Anna Haughton, is now a venerable institution. In its 22 years, it has established a worldwide reputation for top-notch English, Continental and Asian ceramics that are sold against a backdrop of a lecture series by leading specialists in their field that are enjoyed by serious collectors, museum curators and other academics.
Kensington is new venue for Haughtons’ ceramics fair
02 December 2002LONDON-based Brian and Anna Haughton are moving their International Ceramics Fair & Seminar from the West End to the Commonwealth Centre in Kensington where it will be staged in conjunction with a new event, The London Asian Art Fair.
Lincoln Center to be Haughtons’ New York venue
18 December 2001March Asian art fair to be first event: London-based organisers Brian and Anna Haughton have secured a site at the prestigious Lincoln Center on Manhattan’s Upper West Side as the venue for their New York fairs.
Haughtons are forced to postpone after all
01 October 2001DEALER antipathy and logistical problems have forced Anna and Brian Haughton to postpone their New York International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show after all.
Sotheby’s will host Haughton fair in NY
25 September 2001LONDON organisers Brian and Anna Haughton managed to clinch a deal with Sotheby’s late last week which will allow their New York flagship event, The International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, to go ahead.
Haughton Fair cancellation
17 September 2001New York: Due to immense logistical difficulty, particularly shipping, in the wake of last Tuesday's tragedy in New York, London-based organisers Brian and Anna Haughton have today announced a cancellation of their International Art and Design Fair scheduled for September 29th to October 2nd at New York's 7th Regiment Armory on Park Avenue.
New York fair renamed
23 April 2001LONDON-based Haughton International Fairs have changed the name of their International 20th Century Arts Fair to The International Art + Design Fair 1900-2001.
