Antiques fairs and markets offer a great way to browse and buy.
With so many exhibitors or stallholders in one place you can view a lot of different items quickly and compare prices and quality.
Depending on the event, the first day or morning may be for reserved for trade buyers before the general public gain access.
Some antiques markets are held weekly whereas some fairs may be quarterly, biannual, once a year or have some other frequency. Check the Calendar section of this website for details or view the listings every week in the Antiques Trade Gazette newspaper.

10 January 2005THE international art fair to be launched by Florida-based International Fine Art Expositions at the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington Gardens next June has been titled The London Fine Art Fair.
Grosvenor on Wednesday
10 January 2005SOME changes are planned for this year’s Grosvenor House Art & Antiques Fair. Britain’s top fair opens with the private preview on Wednesday June 15, thereby reverting to the historically successful Wednesday preview after seven years opening on a Tuesday.

LAPADA back Cheltenham
19 November 2004LAPADA will return to The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse for their 2005 Autumn Antiques and Fine Art Fair following last month’s inaugural event there. It will again be organised by Ingrid Nilson.
Penman to launch new Chelsea fair aimed at young buyers
11 November 2004NEXT spring Caroline Penman launches a new fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall in King’s Road, London SW3. It will be called The King’s Road Antiques Fair and will run from March 11 to 13.
Newark and Swinderby inject cash to woo trade and buyers
11 November 2004DMG Antiques Fairs have put up £350,000 for a new building at the Newark and Nottinghamshire Showground and secured the venue for another 20 years.
