Asian Art in London

Asian Art in London is an event that focuses on art and historic objects from across Asia. It takes place every autumn in the UK capital.

It started in 1998 and now hosts an array of dealer shows, auctions, receptions and seminars. Among the categories of works offered are Indian & Islamic Art as well as works of art from China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.

The Antiques Trade Gazette Award for Outstanding Indian or Islamic Work of Art from an Auction House and the Apollo Award for Outstanding Indian or Islamic Work of Art from a Dealer each have three finalists. Winners will be announced on October 29.

Asian Art in London to overhaul awards after authenticity of 'best object' winner questioned

The organisers of Asian Art in London are to abandon the event’s ‘best objects’ award after doubt was cast on the authenticity of one of this year’s winners. The Danish auctioneer which won the award however is standing by the Yuan attribution for the flask after conducting a scientific test.
