Sotheby’s Important Chinese Art sale on November 3 includes a group of Chinese porcelains, jades and small works of art from the collection, formed by Marcus Ezekiel (1854-1927) and his son Victor (1905-76) in the first part of the 20th century.

Jade ewers such as this one represent cu da ming.

Dawsons of Maidenhead holds an Asian sale on November 4 where this damaged 18in (46cm) famille verte yen-yen vase is guided at £200-300.

The November 4 Japanese sale at Bonhams includes, estimated at £7000-8000, this Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-26) era lacquer kendai (lectern) fashioned in the form of traditional court music and dance implements.

This reticulated Longquan celadon pear-shaped vase is one of the stars in an exhibition at Littleton & Hennessey in Duke Street, London.

Created with handmade paper, gold leaf and ink, this large work Good Times: Boating Together was made in 2020 by Yao Jui-chung (b.1969).

This 17th century Japanese lacquer cabinet was made for the Western market, c.1680.

This 3ft 5in (1.03m) buff sandstone figure of a male chauri (fan) bearer from 9th-11th century central India, possibly Rajasthan, forms part of Dreweatts’ Asian Art Part 2 sale in Donnington Priory on November 11.

The awards shortlist for Asian Art in London’s Indian and Islamic season have been announced. The Antiques Trade Gazette Award for Outstanding Indian or Islamic Work of Art from an Auction House and the Apollo Award for Outstanding Indian or Islamic Work of Art from a Dealer each have three finalists. Winners will be announced on October 21.

This 9in (23cm) Iznik jug from Ottoman Turkey, c.1580, has an estimate of £40,000-60,000 at Christie’s Art of the Islamic & Indian Worlds sale on October 28.

Adam’s Asian art sale in Dublin on November 23 includes this landscape titled Sunset Kanchenjunga by Jamini Prokash Gangooly (1876-1953) estimated at €4000-6000.

Propped up against a huge bolster and bedecked in jewels sits Navneetpriyaji, one of the child manifestations of the Hindu deity Krishna.

This Indian gold necklace with a fringe of ruby and imitation pearl drops and flowerheads of green paste and moonstone has a guide of £1800-2400 at Bonhams’ sale of Islamic and Indian art on October 25.

Made from fired clay, this 12in (30cm) high bust head of a bodhisattva comes from a little explored group of sculptures found at Hund, a small township on the ancient site of Udabhandapura in Pakistan, once the capital of the Hindu Shahi kingdom.

Hummingbirds collect nectar against a colourful flora and fauna backdrop in this large 3ft (91cm) square oil on canvas, painted earlier this year by Sri Lankan artist Senaka Senanayake (b.1951).

One of Persian scholar Imam Ghazali’s (1058-1111AD) best-known works, Kimiya-yi Sa’ādat (The Alchemy of Happiness), was compiled late in his lifetime during a period of unrest between Sufi mystics and Islamic scholars – the former accused of overphilosophising Islam and neglecting the importance of ritual practices.

Among the Middle Eastern works of art in Woolley & Wallis’ Asian Art Part II sale taking place in Salisbury on November 24 are these two 17th century Safavid Gombroon ware bowls.
