Mallams

Mallams has been trading since 1788 and now has salerooms in Oxford, Cheltenham and Abingdon as well as a valuation office in Burford. 

In addition to conducting general sales, house sales and a biannual ‘House and Garden’ sale, they also hold specialist auctions of 20th century art, books and manuscripts, ceramics and glass, clocks and barometers, collectables, Eastern and Oriental art, furniture, paintings, silver, jewellery and watches.

Rare Dante Gabriel Rossetti drawings of a father and son emerge at Oxford auction

Two crayon portraits of a father and son by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-82) have emerged for sale at Mallams of Oxford. They date from the last decade of the artist’s life and depict his doctor Thomas Gordon Hake and the latter’s son George Gordon Hake.
