While one of the Textile Society’s important functions is holding fairs, another is its annual awards and bursaries, including a professional development award.

The long-running monthly fair held in the medieval St Andrew’s and Blackfriars’ Hall in the centre of Norwich – formerly the 'Norwich Antiques Fair' and most recently the 'Upmarket Fleamarket' – was taken over last November by antique and vintage toy collectors Leon and Kevin McLoughlin-Smith.

Last year we featured the launch of the Malthouse Collective in Stroud, Gloucestershire. This offers 60 dealers and designers selling traditional antiques as well as interiors pieces and art from a listed former Victorian malthouse.

The second Bristol Vintage Photograph Fair due to be held on Easter Sunday, April 12, at The Royal Photograph Society’s headquarters in the city has been cancelled.

Two items in focus at Midhurst

A UK-based design studio trio last year took over the UK licence to the archive of Florence Broadhurst, an Australian designer whose whirlwind life came to a tragic end in 1977.

The first of the year’s two spring dates for the popular Vintage Bazaar held in the West Country will be on Saturday, March 14.

A small fair is being launched in the Fife town of Kirkcaldy on Saturday, February 29.

Born and raised in York, Richard Cawood is the organiser of the city’s triannual 'Antique Home & Vintage Fair' and has now launched a second, smaller event in the nearby East Yorkshire market town of Pocklington.
